*Review* Threezero – Getter Robo

Intro

Ten year old me is pinching 30-ish year old me right now. I have a home office full of Star Wars action figures, comic books, 3D printers, video games, amazing artwork and possibly most importantly, giant robots so weathered up you KNOW they’ve seen some shiz.

Sometimes I sit here in awe at just how cool looking all this silly stuff is. Ten year old me wouldn’t believe his eyes… his little heart probably wouldn’t be able to take all the awesome, glorious, possibly toxic fume laced, plastic surrounding my desk right now. Ten year old me would also have zero clue as to what the majority of the things in my collection are.

“What’s a ThreeZero?” Ten year old me would ask. ” and why doesn’t that space girl doll have any pants on?”
“You’ll know, ten year old me… one day, you’ll know.”

But ten year old me doesn’t have to know a single darn thing about the big bot that landed on my doorstep today, because like current day me (also known as, “me”) he knows a badass big robot toy when he see’s one.

“Grab those Getter Tomahawks, ten year old self… we got a review to do”

*Review* 1000Toy’s SDCC Exclusive Synthetic Human Test Body

INTRO:

The last two years I attended San Diego Comic Con, I carried on my iphone a virtual shopping list full of con exclusives and random merch I planned to hunt down and pay ridiculous amounts of money to obtain. I’d spend the lion’s share of my time at the con working my way back and forth across the show floor attempting to cross everything off it. I’d end up flying back home with two or three bags and a suitcase full of goodies, toys, comics, shirts and the general swag you collect over the grueling, yet enjoyable 4-5 day geek-fest.

This year however, I simplified. I had a single, solitary toy on my list. Just one. 1000Toys Synthetic Human Test Body which was being sold exclusively at the Bluefin booth. 1000Toys, for those not in the know, haven’t been cranking out figures very long. In fact, this is their first con exclusive and only their second figure to officially release. The first being the original Synthetic Human. I was excited and anxious to be a part of that relatively small group of people who could get their mitts on an awesome looking toy from a fairly young, promising company.

Wednesday’s Wallpaper of the Week

Today’s image comes in part from 1\6 baseball bat and skateboard craftsman, Simon. AKA, Goatbot, Goatballs and/or Goaty. He’s contributed before with his fantastic DIY skateboard tutorial as well as his infamous DIY bat tutorial.

This image was lightly altered from his original in order to make it fit a little better on a desktop. It’s a fantastic shot that at both times shows that F-Legion can hand out some punishment as well as giving us an idea of how many toys are in Simon’s collection.

Thanks for the image Goat!

Wednesday’s Wallpaper of the Week

Happy 4th of July, America and welcome everyone from all over! Once again we tapped into the incomparable photography skill of Expathos. You might recall that he contributed the very FIRST Rad Toy Review Wallpaper of the Week back in January so we think it’s a real privilege to have him send us some more of his shots to post. Yes, I said shotS… plural. 🙂

Being that it’s America’s b’day we decided to run with the closest red, white and blue image we currently have at our disposal. Though I’m sure it wasn’t Ex’s initial intent, we thought his shot of hatchery kitty would do the trick perfectly.

We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Once again, thanks for reading and partaking in our shenanigans week after week. Also, another massive thanks to Expathos for lending us his talents.
