Ten year old me is pinching 30-ish year old me right now. I have a home office full of Star Wars action figures, comic books, 3D printers, video games, amazing artwork and possibly most importantly, giant robots so weathered up you KNOW they’ve seen some shiz.
Sometimes I sit here in awe at just how cool looking all this silly stuff is. Ten year old me wouldn’t believe his eyes… his little heart probably wouldn’t be able to take all the awesome, glorious, possibly toxic fume laced, plastic surrounding my desk right now. Ten year old me would also have zero clue as to what the majority of the things in my collection are.
But ten year old me doesn’t have to know a single darn thing about the big bot that landed on my doorstep today, because like current day me (also known as, “me”) he knows a badass big robot toy when he see’s one.
“Grab those Getter Tomahawks, ten year old self… we got a review to do” Continue reading →
INTRO: The last two years I attended San Diego Comic Con, I carried on my iphone a virtual shopping list full of con exclusives and random merch I planned to hunt down and pay ridiculous amounts of money to obtain. I’d spend the lion’s share of my time at the con working my way back and forth across the show floor attempting to cross everything off it. I’d end up flying back home with two or three bags and a suitcase full of goodies, toys, comics, shirts and the general swag you collect over the grueling, yet enjoyable 4-5 day geek-fest.
This year however, I simplified. I had a single, solitary toy on my list. Just one. 1000Toys Synthetic Human Test Body which was being sold exclusively at the Bluefin booth. 1000Toys, for those not in the know, haven’t been cranking out figures very long. In fact, this is their first con exclusive and only their second figure to officially release. The first being the original Synthetic Human. I was excited and anxious to be a part of that relatively small group of people who could get their mitts on an awesome looking toy from a fairly young, promising company.
Today’s image comes in part from 1\6 baseball bat and skateboard craftsman, Simon. AKA, Goatbot, Goatballs and/or Goaty. He’s contributed before with his fantastic DIY skateboard tutorial as well as his infamous DIY bat tutorial.
This image was lightly altered from his original in order to make it fit a little better on a desktop. It’s a fantastic shot that at both times shows that F-Legion can hand out some punishment as well as giving us an idea of how many toys are in Simon’s collection.
Thanks for the image Goat!
