SDCC 2016 Cosplay Edition

Better late than never?

So it’s been a few months since SDCC and despite our best efforts, we had to wait all this time to actually go through and process/edit the hundreds of photos we took over the course of the event.

I could regale you with a long story about professional life/family life/LIFE life getting in the way of getting it done in a more timely manner.. but that’d probably bore you, if I haven’t already.

As always, the cosplayers really brought their A-game to SDCC this year. Walking the floor snapping shots of them are one of my favorite pastimes during the con. I’m astonished by the talent as well as the cajones often on display. Between SDCC and walking the beaches in Hawaii.. I’m constantly reminded that I need to put the donut down and hit the gym.

One day, I just might.

SDCC 2015 Wrap-up: Tons O’ COSPLAY!!

The floors of SDCC are packed with peeps eagerly roaming like alien abducted cattle from one side of the massive hall to the other. I noticed that at least half those folks are dressed up as Captain America and Black Widow… zing! Yup it’s cosplay time!

Despite the FACT that there were enough people dressed up as Avengers this year to fill the ranks of the US Military, there was a ton of fantastic costumes to check out. I get my best cardio on “Cosplay photo get’n day” because ever which way I turn my head, there’s some awesomeness walking by that requires me to rush off in an attempt to catch up before they vanish into the crowd of sweaty, Cheetos stained ether.

I KNOW I’ve seen comics there at least once in the past 4 years, I just can’t place where.
One day they’re going to change the name of “San Diego Comic Con” to “San Diego Cosplay and Movie/TV Stuff You Can Sit in Line For Con” or SDCAM/TSYCSILFC… tm.

Just rolls off the tongue.

San Diego Comic Con 2015 Toy Exclusives

The rush around the crowded convention floor to snag the one or twenty SDCC exclusives can be equal parts a rush of adrenaline in anticipation of bagging that one limited edition goodie and a frustrating, joyless, line-sitting slog.

I wanted to put a little list together of what I consider the highlights from this year. Keep in mind, there are literally 100’s of exclusives from tee shirts and toys to bottle openers and lunch boxes, so don’t consider this list a complete representation.

SDCC 2013 Photos pt 2 – Toy Action!

Here’s part II of our SDCC 2013 coverage. We finally went through the wheat and tossed out all the chaff, leaving only glorious toy photos for your enjoyment. Admit-ably, some of the prototype shots you’ll see in the gallery are no longer prototypes and have since moved on to full-on production. As I went through our remaining shots, I realized we didn’t have a ton of content for our “SDCC: Everything Else” category so in the name of efficiency, I decided to go ahead and toss the link for that gallery in this article as well. That’ll do it for our SDCC 2013 Coverage. Maybe one day I’ll have the steeled nerves to revisit the long hibernating video project I started last July and release that. Maybe as an intoxicating siren leading up to this year’s SDCC. Or maybe I’ll just use that time to better plan what we’ll do for our 2014 coverage so it comes around as it should, when it should.
